My self paced Manual Handling awareness program is designed to provide participants the skills and knowledge to carry out all manual handling tasks in a safe manner and is fully compliant under the HSA guidelines and The Health, Safety and Welfare Act 2005. Who should take this course?

All workers in all sectors must take this course by law, especially those who may have to handle heavy loads and risk back injuries. This includes workers in cleaning, retail, housekeeping, kitchen porter, construction, warehouse, and food packaging, clothing shops, retail, wholesale transportation, delivery drivers, manufacturing, mechanic, office workers. 

 

The Course Objectives: 

This course teaches participants how to perform manual handling tasks (light or heavy) safely, including how to assess risks (task, individual, load, environment) and perform safe lifts to avoid spinal, muscle, ligament or tendon injuries.

Under the Health, Safety & Welfare at Work Act 2005, employers must provide employees with adequate instructions, information, and training in a way that is likely to be understood. Because Manual handling training is "Job Specific" it is important that employers have there new staff retained even if they have a Manual handling cert in date from previous employment.

This blended manual handling training course is equivalent to the classroom-based version and meets the requirements of the Health and Safety Authority of Ireland (HSA). You will have 14 days to complete the course on my online platform.
