As an employer it is your legal responsibility under the Health and Safety Act, 2005 to ensure all work at heights activity is supervised and that the employees carrying out such work are trained and informed.

My Working at Heights with Harness and Lanyard awareness training course is aimed at any person who is required to work at any height during their working day. It is a valuable addition to anyone who works at height or who is responsible for the safety of other who work at heights. It allow the participants understand the legal requirements and the potential impact of life changing injuries should an accident occur.

Course Content :

  • The main legislation that covers work at height in Ireland, which is the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005.

  • The responsibilities of employers, self-employed individuals, and employees in relation to work at height.

  • The different types of work at height, such as working on ladders, scaffolds, and suspended platforms.

  • The risks associated with work at height, such as falls, struck by objects, and electric shock.

  • The control measures that can be used to reduce the risks of work at height, such as using personal protective equipment (PPE), providing safe access and egress, and using fall protection systems.

  • Emergency planning and procedures

  • Pre use Fitting, Inspection and Storage

  • The reporting of accidents and incidents involving work at height.
