About the event
Take the first step in becoming a lifesaver with our Cardiac First Responder Community (CFR-C) program! This comprehensive, half-day (4 hour) course equips you with the skills to respond effectively to emergencies like cardiac arrest, stroke, heart attack, and choking. Recognised by the Pre Hospital Emergency Care Council (PHECC), this program empowers you to act decisively and potentially save a life before professional help arrives.
In Ireland, an estimated 14 people lose their lives to sudden cardiac death each day. That's where Cardiac First Responders (CFRs) like you come in. You are the crucial first link in the chain of survival, equipped to act fast before professional help arrives. By performing CPR and or using a defibrillator to provide basic life support. CFR's can significantly increase the chances of survival, turning those critical minutes into a lifeline for victims of cardiac arrest, stroke and other emergencies.
What you will learn:
- Adult and Child CPR
- Chain of survival
- The safe use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
- Adult and Child Foreign Body Airway Obstruction (Choking)
- How to recognise and treat heart attack (includes administration of Aspirin)
- Recognising the signs and symptoms of stroke carrying out the F.A.S.T assessment
- How to place a person in the recovery position
- Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM)
Duration and numbers:
- 4 hours depending on the class size
- Max number of participants : 6 (additional number may be facilitated)
